About this activity

Experience Beppu's seaside sand-bathing tradition at Sand SPA, overlooking Beppu Bay. Change into a special yukata before staff cover you with warm sand for up to 15 minutes, then rinse off in the shower. Complete your visit with a soak in the Grand Bath, a hot spring bath with sea views. The sand is heated with hot spring water nine times a day, with different bathing spots used for hygiene.
